Francisco Torres of Middletown entered into rest Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Valley View Nursing Home in Goshen, surrounded by his loving family. He was 83 years old. He was born on April 27, 1929 to the late Benito Torres and Virginia Ramos in Puerto Rico.
Francisco, known as Paco by his family and friends, was a devoted husband and father. He was a compassionate and empathetic person, with a captivating smile and natural charm. He freely and generously gave of himself to others. He loved children, dogs and nature. He was deeply loved by all and will be missed.
Francisco is survived by his loving wife, Livia, at home; two sons: Frank and his wife, Tania of Long Island and Felix and his wife, Pok Sun of North Carolina; daughter, Virginia Gregal and her companion, Stephen Smith of Chester; five grandchildren: Felix Jr., Virginia, Gilbert, Jessica, and Cristian; seven great-grandchildren: Kristen, Thalya, Milissa, Julian, Harmony, Halyn, and Iren.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, January 21, 2013 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 22, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home.
