Francis P. (Frank) Sheamon

Francis P. (Frank) Sheamon, age 86, went peacefully home to God on Saturday, November 26, 2022 in Middletown, NY. He was surrounded at his bedside by his loved ones.
Frank was the son of Menashe Sheamon and Marcella (Davis) Sheamon. He was born in Boston, MA on March 10, 1936, the oldest of three children, and grew up in Yonkers, NY.
After graduating from Commerce High School in 1953, Frank enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving until 1958. During his time in the service, he married Leanora (Marie) Sheamon on July 14, 1956. After his discharge, he joined the US Postal Service, working his way up to Postmaster for the last ten years of his career with USPS. In his later years, he worked as a dispatcher for the Town of Wallkill Police Department.
He is survived by his two children, his daughter Leanora Lindsay (and her husband Stephen Lindsay) of Westtown, and his son, Kevin F. Sheamon of Goshen, NY. Also surviving Frank are his three grandchildren: his two grandsons Jason Lindsay of Philadelphia, PA, and Kevin M. Sheamon of Goshen, and his granddaughter, Kimberly Sheamon of Middletown. He is also survived by his niece, Kerri Garipoli and her family, and Lorraine Ricci, his companion.
He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife Marie after 56 years of marriage, as well as his parents, his step-father Patrick Barrett, and his siblings, Robert Sheamon and Patricia Barrett.
Visitation will be at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home in Middletown, NY on Wednesday, November 30 from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will be conducted at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church on Thursday, December 1 at 10:00 AM. Graveside services will be at Orange County Veterans Cemetery in Goshen immediately following the Mass.
