Frances "Gerry" Cash a 43 year resident of Otisville, entered into eternal rest on December 27, 2011 at Orange Regional Medical Center after a short illness. She was 74 years old. Gerry was born to Frances Lassiter and Timothy L. Eason in Sunbury, North Carolina on February 7, 1937. She was a faithfully attended the Otisville Presbyterian Church for over 40 years.
Gerry was an alumnus of Elizabeth City State University in North Carolina and a teacher for over 35 years at The Village Nursery School in Otisville, and over the years taught multiple generations of students.
She will be remembered for her devotion to her faith, her dedication to her profession and her commitment to our community through many organizations and functions. Known for her beautiful tulips, mums and other varieties in her garden, she brought color and beauty to her home and to the village.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard at home: three sons: Derrick of Otisville, Roderik Sr. and his wife Sharron of Hurleyville, and Bryan of Otisville: two daughters Michelle of Upper Marboro, Maryland, and Carlee and her companion Warren of Richmond, VA. Two brothers Walter Eason and his wife Elaine of Suffolk, VA, James Eason and his wife Evelyn of Sunbury NC, two sisters Alma and her husband Robert Sr, of Washington, DC, and Thelma Raysor of Sunbury, NC, Her cherished grandchildren Tosha, Richard, Rodrick Jr, Mallory, Phillip, Haley and Bryan Jr.
Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 and 6-8 on Sunday, January 1, 2012 at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. 130 Highland Ave. Middletown, NY 10940.
Homegoing Services will be on January 7, 012 at St. John A.M.E. Zion Church in Sunbury, NC under the direction of Hertford County Undertakers Funeral Home..
