Frances Crane, known affectionately as “Dolly” to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2017 at Campbell Hall Healthcare Center. She was 98.
The daughter of the late Thomas and Frances Harten Brennan, she was born on February 2, 1919 in Yorkville, NY. She was the widow of George Crane who predeceased her in 1978. She moved to the Middletown area 30 years ago from the Bronx and was a longtime member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Goshen. Dolly had a great sense of humor and loved her family. She was active in both the Wallkill and Happy Seniors clubs. She was a beloved aunt and grandmother. She loved playing cards(poker) with her family and going to casinos. She was a hard worker throughout her entire lifetime.
She is survived by her three children; Catherine (Katie) Gasperina of Hawley, PA, Joseph Crane of Staten Island, NY and Joan Frawley of Goshen; her grandchildren, Laura, Cathy, Jimmy, Joanie, Christine, Danny, Kristin and Joey; and great-grandchildren, Jennie, Tabby, Christopher, Collin, Loren, Johnny, J.T. and Sean, Taryn, Breanna, Sarah and Erin, great-great-grandson Troy and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two of her grandchildren, Tab and John.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 pm on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Friday, October 20, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Church, Murray Avenue, Goshen, NY 10924. Burial will follow in the family plot in Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx.
