Florence Sefcik, a Senior Officer of the Unified Court System in White Plains, died unexpectedly on October 29, 2013 at Orange Regional Medical Center. She was 49.

The daughter of the late William and Florence Weppler Carr, she was born June 24, 1964 in Queens, NY. Florence married Kevin Sefcik on September 22, 1984 in Queens and they moved to the Mount Hope area in 1989 from Queens. She was a member of St. Joseph’s R.C. Church in Middletown.

She was a loving wife and mother who often put others before herself. She was a devoted sister to all of her siblings. She will be remembered as strong willed and independent. She was organized and wished to have things in order for her loved ones. Florence was a spiritual woman who enjoyed the beach and spending time with her family. A true animal lover, she nurtured many animals and was a lifetime supporter of animal charities.

In addition to her husband, Kevin, Florence is survived by her son, Christopher of Queens; daughters, Kate of Chester and Michele of Middletown;  her loving grandson, Wally; father-in-law Frank "Pop" Sefcik of Middletown; three brothers: James of Queens, Charles of New Jersey and William Carr of Long Island; sisters: Susan Carr of Long Island, Jane King of Washintongville and Anne Virgilio of Bloomingburg; bother-in-law, John and his wife, Jean; sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Sefcik and Rosemarie McDonough and her husband, Michael;  as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, November 1st at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 2nd at St. Joseph’s Church, 149 Cottage St., Middletown, NY 10940. Cremation will private.

Visitation hours are from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Friday, November 1, 2013 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am at St. Joseph's Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY 10940. Cremation will be private.
