Felice Sorice of Middletown, NY entered into eternal rest on July 25, 2014, at home with his loving family by his side.
The son of the late Pellegrino and Francesca Sorice, he was born on December 17, 1946 in Naples, Italy. He married Rita Palma on July 11, 1965 in Italy, and they shared 49 years of marriage together. Felice and Rita immigrated to America from Italy with their small children. They worked hard building a life together for their family. Felice loved his family and enjoyed their family traditions. He retired in May of 2012 from Angelica Textiles. After his retirement, he took care of his two youngest grandchildren, David and Liam. He enjoyed cooking them lunch and putting them down for naps.
Felice is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Rita, daughter, Francesca Berlin and her husband Michael, sons Pellegrino Sorice, and Antonio Sorice and his wife Sharon, daughter Carmella Vega and her husband David. He is also survived by his granddaughters, Stephanie, Elizabeth and Margaret Berlin, and Catarina Sorice along with grandsons, Nicolas Sorice, Phillip Berlin, David Jr. and Liam Vega and many nieces and nephews and his entire extended family.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Koulova, the staff at Goshen Medical, Orange Regional Medical Infusion in Goshen and Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties.
Visitation will be held today, Sunday, July 27, 2014 at from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 9:30 am on Monday, July 28, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY 10940. Entombment will follow in the Queen of Peace Mausoleum At St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Felice’s name be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550 or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Danny Thomas Way, Memphis, TN.
Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.
