Fay Francis Duncanson, a lifetime resident of Middletown NY, died on Tuesday March 30 at O.R.M.C. Horton Campus Middletown, NY. He was 97.
The son of the late Simeon and Wem Hoxie Duncanson he was born on June 15, 1912 in White Water, MN.
Fay attended Middletown High School where he met his sweetheart, Marjorie E. Wyant, they graduated together in 1931. Fay and Marjorie married on July 8, 1936 in Kingston. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Following his military career, Fay continued his service to his community as a City of Middletown Police Officer; he retired in 1974 after 28 years on the force.
Fay was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Middletown, the Middletown PBA, Middletown Pistol and Rifle Association and the Golden Age Seniors.
He is survived by his two sons, Edward F. and his wife Ruth and Richard Duncanson and his wife Marlinda; grandchildren, Brian, Jennifer, Cynthia, Stephanie, Michael, Robert and Christopher and eight great grandchildren, Tyler, Brenna, Emily, Brock, Avery, Duncan, Alexis and Cade.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 2, 2010 from 4 to 8 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home at 10 am on Saturday, April 3, 2010 , Rev. James Sidoti, O. Carm will officiate. Burial with Military honors will follow in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery in Monticello.
