Fairvin “Jesse” Gessner died Sunday, February11, 2007 at home.  He was 73 years old.

One of eleven children, he was the son of the late Charles and Carrie Strawser Gessner, Jesse was born October 30, 1933 in Herndon, PA. A Veteran of the Korean Conflict, he proudly served his country in the United States Army.

A family statement reads: “Jesse was unbelievably organized and meticulous about everything. He loved working on his house and his car. He had a great sense of humour. He had a penchent for telling the same story over and over again and still have it be as funny as the first time he told it”.

Jesse is survived by his beloved children Richard R. Gessner and his wife, Jacqui, of Middletown, William Gessner and his wife, Julie, of Cuddebackville, Michael Gessner and his wife Heike, of Otisville, and Jennifer Helt and her husband, James, of Middletown; nine cherished grandchildren; Amy, Erika, Cary, Ricky, Victoria, Chelsea, Josh, Jared and Alexa;several brothers and sisters as well as nieces and nephews.

Jesse was predeceased by his wife, Patricia, in 1992.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 15, 2007 at 11am at St. Joseph’s RC Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Jesse’s name may be made to Orange County Mental Health Association, 30 Harriman Drive, Goshen, NY, 10924.
