Middletown, NY

Everett R. Heater, a longtime area resident and auto mechanic, died on March 30, 2013 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 99.

The son of Edna Romer and James Heater, he was born in Warwick, NY on June 14, 1913. Everett married Bessie Romer on May 26, 1935 in Passaic, NJ. They have one son, Everett, Jr. “Ronnie” whom they both loved unconditionally. Everett was a hard worker who both sold and fixed cars. He was respected as a “Jack of All Trades”. Everett, Bessie and Ronnie were a trio of industrious workers who helped many people when they had car problems.

Everett is survived by his son, Everett, Jr “Ronnie” at home; a sister, Florence Pentz; several nieces, Betty Bruning, Rose Smith, Shirley Waterman and Carole Ames and his nephew, Richard Heater as well many other extended family members.

He was a devoted husband to his wife Bessie and a loving father to his only child, Ronnie.

Everett was predeceased by Bessie on June 25, 1997 as well as his brothers, Roy, James and sisters, Helen, Edna and Avis and and nephews Roy and Don Heater.

Visitation hours are today, Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 7 to 9 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the family plot in Mount Hope Plains Cemetery in Otisville, NY. Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. www.applebee-mcphillips.com
