Obituary for Ethel M. Granzow
Ethel Marie Granzow passed peacefully in her home with family by her side on April 25, 2023. She was 87 years old.
Ethel was born and raised in Queens by her parents, William and Marion Bruns.
Ethel was known to all as a strong, loving women who was never afraid to speak her mind and tell others what she believed. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, her cats, going out to eat, and soaking up the sun on the beach.
Ethel is survived by her sister Carol; her children: Lisa Pennings and her husband Simon, Scott Granzow and his companion Rose, Karl Granzow and his partner Erika, and son-in-law Chris Fine; her grandchildren: Kelly, Katie, Evan, John, Jared, and William; and great-grandchildren Joshua and Benjamin. Ethel is pre-deceased by her husband John Granzow, her long-time companion Alexander Wilson, and her daughter Donna Fine.
The family thanks the hospice care team for their phenomenal efforts to make Ethel comfortable during her final days with her family.
A private burial will take place in the coming weeks. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local animal society.
