Enid Coyne of Middletown NY, died on Thursday April 29 at Middletown Park Manor in Middletown. She was 67.
The daughter of the late David and Ida Birnbaum, she was born on January 25, 1943 in Manhattan. Enid married her beloved husband, Peter Coyne on August 24, 1962 in a civil ceremony and later renewed her vows to Peter in a church service on October 23, 1962 in the Church of the Most Precious Blood in Astoria.
She worked as a secretary for many years and was a dedicated wife and mother.
She loved fishing and camping and was talented at crafts. Enid was known for her baking, needlework and knitting.
Enid is survived by her husband, Peter at home; her children, Peter Coyne, Jr. and his wife Carolann of Fresh Meadows, NY, Sean Coyne of Washingtonville, Lisa Coyne Ferguson of Astoria, four grandchildren, Tara, Brittany, Sean and Stephanie; two sisters, Rae Zacharia of Lake Worth, Fl and Rose Panczenko of Ellicott City, MD. In addition to her family, Enid will be missed dearly by her special pets, Mystee and Diamond.
Visitation hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 5 at 11:00 am at St. Josephs Roman Catholic Church, 149 Cottage Street, NY. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery Mausoleum, Middletown, NY.
