Obituary for Elizabeth Piampiano
Elizabeth Klautsch Piampiano, a longtime area resident of Middletown, passed away on Friday November 15, 2019 at Park Manor Rehab after a short illness. She was 94.
She was born on Tuesday February 3, 1925 in Chicago, the daughter of William and Hedwig (née Michael) Klautch.
She and her sister Gerda, traveled back to family in Germany by themselves with only their dolls as company. She was four years old, a brave and courageous little girl who grew up adoring family and always making room for more through foster care. She loved her flower garden, watching the birds and caring for her family. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Stephen in 1997.
Elizabeth is survived by her children: Peter (Ann) of Monroe, Linda Blake (Barry) of Middletown, Joseph of Middletown, and daughter-in-law, Barbara and sister-in-law, Rose Sanniola, also of Middletown; grandchildren: Lisa and Kristen Blake, Elyse and Cara Piampiano; great-grandchildren: Ashley, Jaylee, Braiden and AvaMarie, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was pre-deceased by her son, Stephen; grandson, Eric; niece, Lori Ann Sanniola and her sister, Gerda Lenniger.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, November 18 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday November 19 at St. Joseph's Church, 149 Cottage Street in Middletown. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
