Elizabeth P. Breslin
Elizabeth P. Breslin, a longtime resident of Westtown, passed peacefully with her family by her side on June 7, 2023. She was 86 years old.
The daughter of Frank and Mary Clark Black, she was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 15, 1936. She married James W. Breslin on September 27, 1958, and was blessed with five children.
Elizabeth had a compassionate spirit that suited her well during her 25 year career at Kings Highway Hospital in Brooklyn, working her way up from the Emergency Room Clerk to the Business Office Supervisor. After relocating to Westtown, she worked for several years in the Billing Office at Arden Hill Hospital. Elizabeth was very artistic, loved collecting beautiful treasures and dollhouse miniatures, creating stained glass and gardening.
She is survived by her husband, James Breslin; and her beloved children, Elizabeth Zapata and her husband Joe; Maureen Daucher; Lora Brownell and her husband Ted; and James Breslin and his wife Jeanine. Grandmother to Maria, Juliana, Alyssa, Jessica, Matthew and Tyler, and Great Grandmother to Rebecca, Josh, Tyler and Gavin. All will miss her deeply.
Elizabeth was a devoted sister to Joan Riccardi and her husband Joe; brother Thomas Black; sister Lora Flanagan; and brother-in-law Scott Peat, and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter Jean Marie (age 7), son-in-law Robert Daucher and grandson Brian Daucher, sister Eileen Peat, brother-in-law William Flanagan and sister-in-law, Eileen Black.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 from 4:00 -7:00 pm at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., located at 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940.
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross R.C. Church, located at 626 County Route 22, Middletown, NY 10940.
