Elizabeth Lynch, a native of Ireland and proud American citizen, died following a long illness on April 24, 2017 at Middletown Park Manor. She was 89.
She was the daughter of the late Nora Ryan and Patrick Nihill, she was born on November 28, 1927 in Ireland. She married her soul mate, William Lynch in 1949. Together they had 3 children: Patricia, William and Bridget. She was amember of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Ladies Auxiliary in Rockland and was an aide to the Grand Marshall for the NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade. She was Woman of the Year for Rockland County in 1992. She was also an active member of St Joan of Arc church Sloatsburg choir and annual St. Patrick’s party. She was known and loved by many in her community. She was a loving and caring woman who did good deeds throughout her life and made a difference to many people.
She is survived by her son, William Lynch and his wife Vicki, and daughter, Bridget Sullivan and her husband Neil, son-in-law Patrick McEnerney; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia McEnerney.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 pm on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Monday, May 1, 2017 at St. Joseph's Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY 10940. Burial will follow in the family plot in Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, NY. Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. www.applebee-mcphillips.com
