Obituary for Elizabeth Klingman Bosch
ELIZABETH KLINGMAN BOSCH
April 24, 1929 - December 2, 2017
Formerly of Middletown, NY
Elizabeth Klingman Bosch, born April 24, 1929, passed away on December 2, 2017 at the age of 88 in Lady Lake, FL. Known as Bette, and raised in Middletown, NY, she was the seventh of eight children born to Charles and Mary Agnes (Lynch) Klingman. Bette grew up in a boisterous family with four brothers and three sisters, encircled by a rich tradition of Catholicism and Irish culture. As a young woman Bette enjoyed acting and reading, a lifelong habit, and the affection of her older siblings. She graduated from Middletown High School in 1947 and later, the Dauton's School of Business. She married William Bosch Jr. in 1950 and they celebrated 67 years together.
Rising slowly and diligently through several positions, she became a bank manager, first at Empire National Bank and eventually at Orange County Trust Company, both in Middletown, and worked in the banking industry for over 33 years. She was involved in many community activities, including the Orange County Chamber of Commerce, as a Girl Scout leader, and with the Horton Hospital Gray Ladies
Throughout her life she took great joy in her extended family and the 19 nieces and nephews who added energy and enthusiasm to the Klingman clan. Nearly 30 years ago Bette and Bill moved to Florida and enjoyed decades of sun and retirement. Bette was a member of the Lady Lake Chorus, joined the Creative Writer's Club, as well as a number of other activities. An avid church member, both in Middletown and in Florida, she had a strong faith that helped her weather any difficulties that arose. More than any other factor in life she took great pride in her children; William Bosch III, Beth Valerio, their spouses, her four grandchildren, and her great grand-daughter. She is survived by them all, by her younger brother Jim, and by her husband, Bill. Services are private.
