Obituary for Elida Ruiz
Elida Ruiz, a longtime Middletown resident, died on March 12, 2024 at Fishkill Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was 90 years old.
Elida, the daughter of the Susano Pena and Julia Velasquez de Pena, born on July 23. 1939 in Chaparra, Puerto Rico. she married Antonio Ruiz and worked for Cadie Products in Paterson, NJ. Elida was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be fondly remembered as a kind and caring lady by all had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is survived by her son, Juan Antonio Rusiz, her sister Paula Sicilia, grandchildren, Sean Matthew Ruiz, James Anthony Ruiz, Chalres Robert Ruiz, Juan Antonio Ruiz Jr, and Susan Marie Ruiz and three great-grandchidlren, Brandon, Isabella and Anakin Ruiz.
Visitation and the service will take place from 10 to 11 am on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. Burial will follow in the family plot in Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa, NJ.
