Obituary for Elida E. Kehoe
Elida Ella Kehoe, a longtime area resident, died Thursday, July 27, 2006 at St. Teresa's Nursing Home, Middletown. She was 83 years old. The daughter of the late George and Cora Mae Harris Tompkins, she was born March 27, 1923 in Staten Island. Elida was a cashier for A.C. Moore Craft Store in Middletown. She is survived by one son, Michael and his wife Judy, of Middletown; two daughters, Catherine Myers of Round Rock, Texas and Marie Kehoe of Middletown; seven grandchildren, Lisa, Patricia, George, Chris, Jason, Michael Jr., and Elizabeth; eight great-grandchildren, Kenneth, Sarah, Joshua, Stephen, Zander, Zavier, Madison and Taylor.A family statement reads: "Elida will be missed by her family and all who knew her - especially her little cat, Muffy. In our hearts we know she has been reunited with her husband, Francis (Frank), who died 27 years ago."Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday July 30th from 4 to 8 p.m. at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 31st at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 90 Euclid Avenue, Middletown. Burial will follow in the family plot in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.Arrangements under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.
