Obituary for Eleanor Ogden
Eleanor Louise Ogden of Circleville, NY, passed away on April 12, 2022 at the well lived life of 96 years old.
She was born on August 31st, 1925, to Sarah and John Lutjens of Chester, NY. She married Ralph Louis Ogden and they made their home in Circleville. They were married 47 years. Eleanor was a member of Circleville Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
She was predeceased by her husband Ralph, her brother John Lutjens, sister Suzanne DeBlock, sister Marjorie Armes, niece Jacqueline Zwart, nephew Jeremy DeBlock, niece Sara Green and nephew William DeBlock.
Early in her career, she worked as a bookkeeper for various businesses, a teacher’s aide at Circleville Elementary School, and many years working in the personnel office at Orange County Community College.
Eleanor was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. She was the kind of person who always put a smile on your face. She was adored by her many nieces and nephews as well as her grandchildren. Eleanor loved cooking, baking and hosting gatherings at her house for her family and friends. She was known for her chocolate chip cookies, which she often brought to family and church gatherings. People always left her house with both a full stomach and spirit.
She is survived by her son, Randee Ogden and wife Christine; grandchildren Rachael Ogden and Luke Ogden; her nieces Nancy Lust (Henry); Gloria Jean DeBlock-Squire (Jim); Linda Clark (Garfield) and Susan Jacks; her nephews Robert DeBlock; James DeBlock (Lori), and Thomas DeBlock (Melody) as well as many loving great nieces and great nephews.
Service will be held in her honor on Tuesday, April 19th, 2022, at Circleville Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Circleville, NY. Visitation will be at 11am, service at 12pm and a luncheon to follow at the church..
