Eileen O’Rourke Exiner, a longtime part of the waitstaff at John’s Harvest Inn in Middletown, died following a hard fought battle with cancer. She was 70.

The spirited and loving daughter of Wilma MacMahon O’Rourke and the late Vincent O’Rourke, Eileen was born on March 24, 1944 in the Bronx. She moved to the Washingtonville area as a young girl and spent most of her life in this area. Eileen was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Middletown.

She will be remembered by all who knew her for her great sense of humor that she kept in any situation. She was very generous and loving and her family always remained most important to her. Eileen loved being by the beach, reading and traveling; which she did whenever she had the chance.

She is survived by her loving family, her son, Timothy J. Exiner of San Antonio, TX; daughter Nicole Villoni and her husband Christopher of Garden City, NY; their father, William P. Exiner of Newburgh; her mother, Wilma O’Rourke of Middletown; her siblings, Kathleen P. Shea and her husband Patrick of Clearwater, FL, Margaret A. Botti and her husband Peter of Goshen, NY; Patricia M. Mulcahy and her husband James of Fairpoint, NY, Vincent P. O’Rourke and his wife Diana of Myrtle Beach, SC and Michael O’Rourke and his significant other Jeannie of Queens. Eileen is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Christopher and Kimberly, many nieces and nephews and her John’s Harvest Inn family.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm today, Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Wednesday, October 15,2014 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 90 Euclid Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. Cremation and burial of ashes will be private.

Memorial contributions in Eileen’s name may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Way, Memphis, TN 38105.
