EILEEN M. KOLK
October 4, 1943 - February 26, 2013
Goshen, NY
Eileen M. Kolk, a longtime resident of Goshen, died at her home February 26, 2013, surrounded by her family. She was born in Middletown to the late Neil and Shirley Doherty Fagain on October 4, 1943.
She married the love of her life, Kenneth Kolk, on June 8, 1963, in Goshen, and they spent 49 wonderful years together.
The family owned and operated the Dairy Dale Farm, in Goshen, where Eileen kept the books and supported the family with love and attention to details. She added much beauty to their property with her flower gardens.
She was an avid coin collector, she created beautiful heirlooms for us with her crocheting talents and enjoyed bowling tournaments with her husband, whom she met at the Bowling Alley back in the 60’s. After the two children were grown Eileen took a job as a bookkeeper for Columbia University and shared her salary with Ken so they could travel. When they finally realized they liked vacations they traveled 60 days a year.
Eileen is survived by her loving husband, Ken, at home; her son, Richard and his wife, Lindsay of Elmira, NY; a sister, Denise Fagain and her husband, Jim; her beloved grandchildren: Philip and Ryan Graffeo, Dalton Dickerson, Rikki-Jo Kolk, Malik Marshall and Sierra Kolk. She was predeceased by her daughter, Cynthia Graffeo, and her sister, Phyllis Fagain.
Visitation hours are from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 3rd at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY 10940. Burial of Cremains will take place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6th in the family plot at Wallkill Cemetery.
