Obituary for Edwin Rivera
Edwin Rivera, a longtime area resident, died after a long illness on November 9, 2020 at home. He was 70 years old.
He was born to Modesto and Olivia Rosello Rivera on November 12, 1950 in Brooklyn, NY. Edwin served our country in the United States Army in the 70’s during the Viet Nam War.
Edwin married Anna Maria Lanchazo on June 11, 1983 in Harriman, N.Y. at St. Anastasia’s R.C. Church.
Edwin had a talent for music. He played congas and belonged to a local band. He played and enjoyed tennis and baseball and loved his friends whom he shared time with.
Edwin drove a bus for
Shortline and one time moved with his wife to Florida to be a dispatcher for the company.
He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-seven years, Anna Maria, and will be forever remembered as a good and loyal friend, life partner and soul mate.
He is also survived by his mom, Olivia Rivera, one son, Christian Rivera and his wife Christina, and their children Victoria and Grace; his uncle, Nick and Gloria and his beautiful niece Elvira.
Edwin was predeceased by his father and his sister, Zandra..
There will be no visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at St. Anastasia’s Church, 21 Main Street, Harriman, NY at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Michael Keane officiating.
Burial will follow in the O.C. Veteran’s Cemetery , 111 Craigville Rd., Goshen, N.Y.
