Obituary for Edwin R. Taylor
Edwin R. Taylor, a longtime resident of Middletown, died after a courageous battle with Covid-19. He was 70.
The son of Edwin and Anna Alfieri Taylor, he was born in Englewood, NJ on August 31, 1950.
Ed was a devoted man, who adored his wife, children and family. He was athletic, charismatic, strong, loving and supportive. He was a faithful Catholic and a member of the Titus Brandsma Council of the Knights of Columbus. Ed had a great sense of humor and a gift for storytelling. He was proud to have served his country as a U.S. Navy reservist.
Ed is survived by his loving wife Kathy, his two daughters Karen Henriquez and her husband Jean-Marc, Maryann Deutsch and her husband Jason, and his son Edwin Taylor and his wife Danielle. He is also survived by one brother, Robert Taylor and his wife Linda and two sisters, Maryann Romaine and her husband Bill, Dianne Kelemen and her husband Chris. He was a proud Pop-Pop to five grandchildren, Tayler, Alex, Ella, Gianna and Joey and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 8 to 9:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 90 Euclid Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. Burial will be private at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Facial coverings and social distancing will be required for guests attending the visitation and Mass.
