Edna W. Hill, a Middletown resident, passed away peacefully Monday, September 25 at Garnet Hospital, Middletown, NY. She was 91 years old. The daughter of the late Henry Tatgenhorst and Johanna Tatgenhorst. She was born January 31, 1932. She grew up in Guttenberg, NJ and lived there until she married the late Edward C. Hill. They spent most of their married life in East Rutherford, NJ. They moved to Middletown, NY to be closer to family as they grew older.
Edna is survived by her two children, Janice A. Bauer and her husband James and her son John H. Hill.
Edna enjoyed spending time with her five grandchildren, Amanda Puff and her husband Ben, Travis Bauer and Joshua Bauer and his wife Kristin, Lindsay Hill and Madison Hill.
She was very proud to be called Gigi by her four great grandchildren, Penelope Puff, James Puff, Rory Bauer and Sadie Bauer. She was also very excited that a fifth great grandchild would be arriving in December by the name of Lennox.
Edna was very active up until the end playing card games, attending senior meetings and going to the casino.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023 from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY.
