Obituary for Dr. Deevy J Greitzer
Dr. Deevy J. Greitzer, a longtime resident of Middletown, died after a long illness at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern. She was 79.
The daughter of Max and Mae Greitzer, she was born in California on February 21, 1944.
She attended Cornell University and the NYU College of Dentistry, graduating in 1978. She lived in Greenwich Village for 20 years. After moving upstate, she worked for the New York State Department of Health in Newburgh, NY.
She was an avid animal lover and supporter of the Middletown Humane Society. She loved her home and her animals, even the possum and raccoon who were frequent visitors to the yard.
She was predeceased by her parents and her brother David Todd Greitzer. She stayed in touch with cousins, especially Naomi Marcus.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.
