Dorothy Medwick formerly of Dallas, TX and recently of Otisville NY, died on Tuesday November 2 at St. Teresa's Nursing Home Middletown, NY. She was 83.
The daughter of the late James and Beatrice Buckley Philpotts she was born on January 22, 1927 in New York City, NY. She worked for many years for Caltex Petroleum in Dallas, TX.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Robert of Dallas, TX and her loving daughter Barbara Duffy and her husband Peter of Otisville; her devoted sister, Lillian Hartnett of Nanuet; three beloved grandchildren, Kevin and Kerrie Duffy of Otisville, and Brian Duffy and his wife Kristen and her great-grandchildren, Anna, Emma and Keira Grace Duffy, all of Goshen.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm today, Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave, Middletown, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010 at Holy Name of Jesus Church, Highland Avenue, Otisville, NY 10963. Burial will follow the Mass in Holy Name Cemetery in Otisville.
Memorial contributions may be made to A.H.R.C., Mac Center, Mt. Hope Road, Middletown, NY 10940.
The family wishes to thank the 3rd floor nurses and aides at St. Teresa's Nursing Home and Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, especially Kathy and Susan for the excellent care they provided for Dorothy.
