Obituary for Donald Charles Bailey
Donald Charles Bailey of Middletown died on Thursday May 16, 2024 at Garnet Health Medical Center surrounded by his family and friends. He was 58.
Don was born on January 4, 1966 in Goshen, NY to Aline and Paul Bailey. He was a graduate of Middletown High School and SUNY New Paltz. He was employed at Orange County Department of Social Services for over 30 years. He retired in 2021.
Don was a devoted and loving father and son. His daughter Mya was the light of his life. Don had a beautiful big smile and even bigger heart. Don was a genuinely good hearted, thoughtful person. He will be deeply missed by many.
Don loved the outdoors. He spent part of his childhood in St. Thomas where he loved the beach, warm weather, biking and hiking.
Don is survived by his loving parents, Aline and Paul Bailey, his sister, Jennifer Bailey of Middletown, his beloved daughter, Mya Bailey and her mother Deanna Terry of Warwick, step-son Kyle Sather, his beloved friend Melissa James, and extended family in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
Visitation for Don will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. Cremation will be private.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his dear friend Melissa James and the doctors and nurses at Garnett Health Medical Center and Sloan Kettering for their compassionate care of Don.
