Dominick John Parrella, a lifetime Middletown resident, died on Friday, July 12, 2013 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 93.Â
The son of the late Frank and Ann Guarino Parrella, he wasd born on December 12, 1919 in Middletown. Dominick proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1941-1946 before and during World War II. He married Carolina N. DiGiacomo on March 25, 1943 in Jersey City, NJ. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Middletown, a founding member of Silver Lake Fire Dept and a charter member of the Laurel Hill Hunting Club. He loved hunting, fishing, and food. His family was his whole world. He was the inspiration to all his children’s goals.Â
In addition to Carolina at home; he is survived by his son, Frank and his wife Christine and his daughter Maryann Maloney and her husband Bruce, all of Middletown; one brother, Frank and his wife Marlene of Scottsdale, AZ; and his beloved grandchildren, Nick, Frank, Diane, Kyle, Shay,and Jason; and great-grandchildren, Caroline, Stephanie, Jacqueline and Jack.Â
He was predeceased by his three brothers, John, Anthony and Vincent and two sisters, Lucy and Constance LaPenna.Â
Visitation hours are today, Sunday, July 14, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Monday, July 15, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY 10940. Entombment will follow in Queen of Peace Mausoleum at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Middletown.Â
