Dominick Carelli, founder of Imagine Productions in Manhattan, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at his home in Washingtonville. He was 62.
The son of the late John V. and Gesualda Marchisello Carelli, he was born on November 12, 1954 in Sicily, Italy. At the age of four, Dominick came to the United States with his family. He settled in the Bronx and was a motivated, hard worker his entire life. Dominick began working at the age of 17 and was the provider for both his immediate and extended family. He ran his successful advertising company in Manhattan until very recently.
Dominick was a dedicated husband who took excellent care of his beloved wife, Genevieve. He was a supportive and loving father who was always there for his children. He was a mentor to his sons, and taught them all how to play guitar and drums. He was a phenomenal uncle, Godfather and great uncle who took care of other’s children like they were his own. He adored his grandson Jojo as well as his nieces and nephews. He will be remembered for his incredible generosity, Dominick provided for anyone in need. He was a history buff, loved movies and a diehard Beatles fan. Those who were fortunate to have known Dominick, were touched by a wonderful man whose life was dedicated to taking care of friends and family. He was a great man who will be dearly missed.
In addition to his loving wife Genevieve at home; he is survived by his children, Dominick Jr. and his wife Piera, George Havranek and his wife Jacqueline, son, John as well as his daughter Jennie. Cherished sister, Carmela Marsicano grandson, Joel, godchild, Isabella Rose Emond and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 pm on Saturday, November 26 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will be held at 8:30 pm on Saturday evening, Fr. Joseph Fallon will officiate. Cremation will private.
