Dominick A. Capria of Montgomery NY, died on Saturday April 9 at O.R.M.C. Horton Campus Middletown, NY. He was 74.
Dominick, the son of the late Umberto and Inez Capria, was born on August 11, 1936 in the Bronx. He married his wife Connie Taglianetto on June 25, 1960 in the Bronx. He owned and ran a butcher shop in Suffern, NY. Faithful members of St. Paul's R.C. Church, Dominick and his wife Connie were the organizers, workers and hosts of all the church dinners, breakfasts, festivals and receptions. He was also the head of the 300 Club at his church. He loved to meet the people, and always put himself in the position to mingle with others while providing for them. After he retired from his butcher shop, Dominick created his own business La Famiglia Cucina in order to share his famous cheesecakes with his community. His wonderful cheesecakes graced many local businesses in Orange County.
Dominick was a warm, caring, and talented man who embodied the term, "gentleman". He was well loved and liked by his family and his community. He gave tirelessly and selflessly, asking for nothing in return. He will be dearly and truly missed.
In addition to his loving wife of 50 years, Connie at home; he is survived by three sons, Dominick of Oklahoma, Peter and his wife Beth of Otisville, and Ralph and his wife Sylvia of West Milford, NJ; and his daughter, Stephanie of Warwick; one brother, Fillip and his wife Irene of L.I; and his sister, Veronica and her husband
Andrew of the Bronx; 13 grandchildren and 18 great--grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Monday, April 11, 2011 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at St. Paul's R.C. Church, Rt. 17K, Bullville, NY 10915. Cremation will be held privately at Cedar Hill Crematory.
