Domenico Pupo

12th of March 1957 - 3rd of February 2023

Middletown, NY

Domenico Pupo entered into rest on February 3rd 2023 at Columbia New York-Presbyterian Hospital. He

was 65 years old.

Son of Nicolina Pupo, and the late Vincenzo Pupo, Domenico was born in Italy on March 12th, 1957 in

the small town of Magisano.

Domenico spent his early years in Italy. At 17, he journeyed to the United States with only his mother and

3 younger siblings in search of a better life. They settled in Middletown, NY in 1974. Domenico worked

many jobs and worked vey hard for his family. He then went back to Italy to marry his wife, Maria Stella,

and together they returned to Middletown, NY where they started a family and have been life long

residents since.

Domenico was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who valued family above all. His kind heart

and hard working habits inspired those around him. He attracted many friends and knew how to make

people laugh. Family and friends were always comforted in his company. He loved the outdoors and

spent most of his time working around his home, tending to his garden, splitting wood for the coming

winter or tending to his chickens. He enjoyed hunting in the woods and making his own wine or tomato

sauce among many other Italian traditions. He liked playing Italian card games, a competitive round of

bocci and watching the World Cup. Domenico "Mimmo" Pupo will sorely be missed by family and friends.

His memory will always remain in our hearts and his positive influence continues to inspire those he left

behind.

He is survived by his loving wife Maria Stella, his devoted sons Vincenzo, Rosario, Domenick Jr. (and

wife Paloma), his grandsons Enzo and Domenico, his mother Nicolina Pupo, his three siblings Nata

Gesualdo (and her husband Frank), Concettina Bruni (and her husband Valerio), Nicola Pupo (and his

wife LeeAnn), his nephews Nick and Sal, nieces Elena (and her husband Dan), Nicole (and her husband

Shawn), Lucrezia (and her husband Isaac) and their numerous children.

A wake will be held on Wednesday February 8th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Applebee McPhillips Funeral

Home, 130 Highland Ave. Middletown, NY. A Funeral Mass will be held on the next day, Thursday

February 9th at 11 AM inside St. Joseph's Church, 149 Cottage St. Middletown, NY.
