Domenic Leone, a retired Superintendent of Pine Bush District, died at home, surrounded by his family after a long illness. He was 70.
The son of Domenico and Sylvia Caramanica Leone, he was born on March 22, 1944 in New York City. While studying at SUNY Fredonia, he met Diana Moore, whom he married on August 19, 1967 in Titusville, PA. Together they raised their three children in a household of music, laughter, love and travel that will be always be remembered by his family.
He is survived by his sons, Christopher and his wife Pamela of Los Angeles, CA and Andrew and his wife Jennifer of Lansdale, PA and his daughter Kathryn Martin and her husband Justin of Cortlandt Manor, NY. He is also survived by his sister Elena Peskin and her husband Harvey of Floral Park, NY and sister-in-law Marilyn Leone of East Northport, NY; his brother, Anthony and his wife Angela of Mattatuck, LI; two grandchildren, Jake and Hudson and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Celebration of Life will be held at the funeral home at 11 am on Monday, December 29, 2014. Burial will follow in the family plot in Wallkill Cemetery, Midway Road, Middletown, NY 10940.
