Diana Romero of Middletown, died on Sunday April 4 at home. She was 58.
The daughter of Rosaura Sierra and the late Fancisco Romero, Diana was born on December 11, 1951 in Puerto Rico. She moved to the Middletown area from New York City in the late 1980s. Diana worked as a corporate auditor for Blue Cross Blue Shield and was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Middletown.
She will be remembered for her generous and loving ways. She was very smart and was a dedicated and diligent worker. Diana loved her family and was great with kids, especially her nephew and nieces-who she liked to spoil. She was an avid reader and frequent movie-goer..
Diana is survived by her mother, Rosaura; sisters Angie Guasp and her husband Victor and Janet DeJesus of Midldetown; Aunt Carmen and Uncle Raul, nephew Jordan, and nieces Courtney and Schuyler.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY 10940. Burial will follow in Ridgebury Cemetery, Ridgebury Road, Slate Hill, NY, 10973.
