David Wayne Kolk, Jr., a lifetime area resident, died unexpectedly in Bloomingburg on Sunday, December 29, 2013. He was 32.

The son of Marlene Baker and the late David W. Kolk, Sr., he was born on August 4, 1981 in Middletown. He worked as a detailer and technician for Fedders Suburau in Middletown. David will always be remembered as a loving son, husband, father and brother. He had a great personality and a sense of humor that everyone enjoyed. He was a generous man who would always be willing to give whatever he had to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed especially by his little “Nana”.

David is survived by his loving wife Vanessa; his mother Marlene and her partner Robert Hall; his beloved stepdaughter Elianna; brother Edward Kolk; sister Jean Wagner and her husband Arthur; several aunts, uncles and many friends.

In addition to his father, David was predeceased by his uncle, Mark “Turtle” Allen Baker.

Visitation hours will be from 6 to 8 pm on Monday, January 6, 2014 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, January 7, 2014, Rev. John Horan, O.Carm. will officate. Burial will follow in the family plot in Wallkill Cemetery in Middletown. Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. www.applebee-mcphillips.com
