David L. Jacks
David L. Jacks of Westtown, entered into Heaven’s Gates on Sunday August 28 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 47.
The son of Robert H. and Vivan L. Studer Jacks, he was born on January 5, 1964 in Rensselaer, Indiana. He graduated from Rensselaer Central High School in 1982 and attended Purdue University. He moved to California where he met Susan DeBlock, the love of his life. David relocated to the area 9 years ago to be closer to family. He married Susan on September 7, 1991 in Ridgebury, N.Y. He worked as a Union plumber and was a member of Local 373 in Mountainville, NY.
David was a loving family man and proud father. He put others before himself, gave out of love and never had a harsh word or judgment for anyone. He was a hands on Dad who could fix anything. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was a terrific gardener.
In addition to his loving wife, Susan, at home; David is also survived by their adoring children; son Kevin A. and daughter Stephanie L. Jacks at home ; his parents, Robert and Vivian; brothers Alan Douglas and wife Cindy of Lafayette, IN and Donald Craig Jacks and wife Heidi of Kalamazoo, MI and sister Cynthia Jacks Morgan of Mississippi; many nieces and nephews as well as his beloved mother and father-in-law, Suzanne and John DeBlock and numerous sisters and brothers-in-law. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Carl K. Morgan, Jr.
Visitation hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Friday, September 2, 2011 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Ave,
Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service of Remembrance will be held
at 10 am on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Westtown Presbyterian Church, Rt. 284, Westtown, Pastor Robert Keene will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridgebury Cemetery, Ridgebury Road, Slate Hill, NY. Memorial contributions in David's name may be made to the David L. Jacks Memorial Fund, P.O.
