David Cusa of Middetown NY, died on Saturday November 13 at O.R.M,C., Horton Campus in Middletown. He was 47 .
The son of Rosemarie Caron Cusa-Stock and the late Robert J. Cusa, he was born on July 21, 1963 in Philadelphia, PA. A resident of the area for many years, he and his family were long time owners of the Silver Lake Deli in Scotchtown. Lately he worked as a mechanic for E.Tetz and Sons in Middletown.
He is survived by his loving mother, Rosemarie and her husband Jim; one brother Douglas Alec Cusa and his wife Cameron; and his sister Karen Mary Cusa Ripley and her husband Robert all of Apex, NC; several aunts, uncles and cousins; niece Cate and two nephews, Andrew and Thomas; his dear dedicated ex-wife, Carol Parenti Cusa Wilkinson; and his dearly beloved girls, Jessie and Jenna and his faithful cat, Spike.
Visitation hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Monday, November 15, 2010 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in David's name to be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN.
His family wishes to thank the nurses at the Tucker Center at O.R.M.C.
Medical Center, Horton Campus and special thanks to his cousin, Dr. Gerard Cusa and Dr. Mary Ellen King for their loving support and care.
