Daniel R. Bequette, a longtime resident of Orange County, died unexpectedly on August 12, 2013 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 68.
The son of the late Elton and Ferna Missey Bequette, he was born on January 19, 1945 in Lebanon, Il, but he grew up in the hills of northern Missouri and really considered that his home state.
Dan served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a retired Head Custodian at Cornwall Central School District and a retired Security Guard at Arden Hill Hospital in Goshen, NY.
Dan loved nature and camping trips to Assateague Island. He enjoyed feeding the birds, the squirrels and he loved his dogs. He also loved to bowl and play softball. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, his son Ryan and his family.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Valerie Hunter at home; one son, Ryan and his wife Heather and their three children; Kayla, Nicholas and Blake of Newburgh and one daughter Michelle of Illonois.He is also survived by three brothers and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters and one brother.
