Daniel John Fratto of Greenville died on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was 19.
The beloved son of Michael and Danielle Fratto, he was born on December 21, 1993 in Middletown.
Daniel was a graduate of Minisink Valley High School and was currently studying graphic design at SUNY Rockland. His lifelong amibition was to become an animator and was in the process of creating his own company, “Roaring Graphics” for which he already had created an innovative website. Daniel was full of energy and had a smile that could light up a room. His friendliness made him known to everyone, from his family, to school to the entire staff at Memorial Sloan Kettering. He never gave up, regardless of the obstacles he faced. His laugh was loud and contagious. His great sense of humor and enormous amount of strength carried him through all of his life’s challenges.His website, “Roaring Graphics”, with his animated roaring lion showcased Daniel’s spirit and goals. With the heart of a lion, he set out to help others and get things done. He was instrumental in raising funds for a rubberized sports field for children with disabilites along with Beautiful People.org. He worked as the announcer for all children at the Beautiful People baseball games. Although he was small in stature, Daniel was a giant in spirit. He has left a void that will never be filled, and a beautiful legacy that will always be cherished by those who were fortunate to have shared in his life.
In addition to his devoted parents, Michael and Danielle, Daniel is survived by one brother, Michael, all at home.
Visitation hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. At 8 pm on Wednesday evening, a Celebration of Daniel’s Life will be led by Fr. Patrick McGuigan, O.Carm., at the funeral home.
