Daniel Robert Brown of Montgomery, NY died June 7, 2011 at ORMC Horton Campus. He was 68. Born in Brooklyn on March 5, 1943 to the late James and Alice Taylor Brown. Dan married the love of his life Carolann Carney and they would have celebrated 45 wonderful years together this Saturday, June 11. He worked as a firefighter employed by the New York City Fire Department , engine 88, ladder 38, for 28 years. he retired in 1996, letting him enjoy his passion for the outdoors and hunting and member of the Wallkill Rod and Gun Club. He was a kind and wonderful husband, father and grandfather who no one remembers him ever raising his voice.
He is survived by his loving wife at home, Carolann, his daughter Alice Brown-LeGrand and her husband Dana, not just Dan's son-in-law, but the son he always wanted, of MA, brother Joseph and his wife Maureen of LI, sister Alice Stewart and her husband Jack of FL and his beloved grandchildren Brayden and Kodie.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 10, from 2-4 and 7-9 Pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. 130 Highland Ave. Middletown, N 10940.
With a funeral service at 8 pm at the funeral home. Cremation will be private and at the convenience of the family .
Memorial contributions in Dan's name may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation, 280 N. Bedford Rd, #2-B, Mt. Kisco, NY 10549.
