Daisy Vazquez, devoted mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully with her loving daughters at her side on Friday, September 6, 2013 at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown, NY. She was 87.
The daughter of the late Lucia De La Paz, she was born on August 26, 1926 in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She moved to New York at the age of three. Daisy worked as a Medical Technologist for Metropolitan Hospital in Manhattan. In 1989, she relocated to Middletown where was a member of the Catholic Daughters Court Rosemary at St. Joseph’s Church.
Daisy dedicated her life to her daughters and was a spirited lady. She loved to dance and celebrate with her family.
She is survived by her daughers, Deborah Zamot and her husband Edwardo Lee Zamot and Diana Vazquez-Oliveras; grandchildren, Erica Zamot Inacio and her husband Nelson, Edward Lee Zamot and his wife Tammy, Eian Michael Zamot and Jonathan Oliveras; and her great-grandchildren, Vincent and Zachary Inacio, Claudia, Dominic, and Edward Lee Zamot, Jr.
Cremation will be private.
A Celebration of Daisy’s Life will be held at 6 pm on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940.
