Obituary for Cynthia Bryan
Cynthia Bryan, known affectionately as Momzie, was the beloved matriarch of the Bryan family.
With six sons and two daughters her daily routine was nothing short of miraculous, maintaining warm beds and full bellies not only for family but friends and relations far and wide. Predeceased by her husband Burne, they were a formidable alliance. They ensured the growth of productive adults including Coach, Teacher, Medical doctors, Allied Health Providers, Civil and Consultant Engineers. She was born in St Ann's Bay, Jamaica, West Indies to James Pitt and Henrietta Parry where she was the last of 10 children.
It was there she met her husband and subsequently moved to the capital city of Kingston where she raised all her children. Upon relocating to the United States, she continued to impart the same wisdom, work ethic and desire to achieve into her grandchildren. She was the family historian due to her great storytelling abilities, memory and wit.
She is survived by an extensive family spanning Jamaica to New York, Florida, Boston, Oregon and London. This includes but not limited to children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews.
She will forever be missed but will live on in the lives she touched and especially in the lives of her children for whom her caring, empathy and love will remain the model pursued, but unlikely attained. Until we meet again……..
