Obituary for Christina Whittel
Our lives changed permanently as one of the sweetest and brightest people we have ever loved left our world forever. Christina Whittel, cherished daughter, sister, and amazing friend, died unexpectedly on April 11, 2022. She was 22 years old.

The daughter of James A and Aliza N Hernandez Whittel, She was born in Goshen, NY, on February 17, 2000.

Christina grew up in New Hampton and graduated from Goshen High School. She went on to graduate summa cum laude from the University at Buffalo in three years time.

She was considered a loving and compassionate person by many who knew her. Her love of children had her develop wonderful relationships with many children. At her young age, she traveled extensively, and she appreciated the many countries and cultures she experienced.
Christina loved children and was pursuing a Masters Degree in School Psychology.

This beautiful woman is survived by her loving and devoted family, parents, James and Aliza Whittel of New Hampton, her brother, Nicholas of Ft. Collins, Colorado, grandparents John and Julianne Whittel of Circleville, NY, grandmother Nydia Hernandez of Brooksville, FL, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by her grandfather Reinaldo Hernandez.

Visitation will be held on Monday April 18, 2022 at Goodwill Presbyterian Church located at 2217 State Route 208 Montgomery NY 12549 from 9:00am-12:00pm. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12pm.

Christina had a love of kids and helping those in need so Donations in her name may be made to Western New York Perinatal Bereavement Network INC. located at 150 Bennett Rd. Cheektowaga, NY 14227. (www.wnypbn.org).

The WNYPBN board, program committee and volunteers are a group of dedicated, compassionate and caring people who have all shared in the loss of a baby in one way or another or to Compass House located at 1451 Main Street, Buffalo, NY.
Compass House was founded as a homeless shelter. Today along with the Emergency Shelter, they operate a Resource Center, and a Rapid Re-Housing Program.
