Goshen, New York

Charlotte Heinzel, a lifetime area resident, entered into eternal rest Thursday morning, peacefully after a short illness at Achieve Rehab and Long Term Care Facility in Liberty, NY. She was 91 years old.

Charlotte was born on May 22, 1923 in Florida, NY. The daughter of the late Gustave Beahaucz and Lena Sosnoski-Beahaucz.

She married Gunther Heinzel AIA, and worked along side him in his Architectural practice until they both retired. She was a take charge type of person who could be counted on by her family and friends. Charlotte and Gunther loved the water and spent many weekends on their boat docked on the Hudson River. A passion for travel, she and her husband visited many countries around the world.

Charlotte was a longtime member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, the Newburgh Yacht Club and the Coast Guard Auxiliary.

A graduate from the Fordham Hospital School of Nursing, Charlotte was a Registered Nurse who worked at the Roosevelt Hospital before becoming a private duty nurse. Charlotte participated in The Nurses Health Study, conducted by the Mayo Clinic. A lifetime research study based on the practical life of the registered nurse.

Charlotte is survived by her son, Gunther Heinzel of Goshen, NY, two grandchildren, Eric Heinzel and Kelly Heinzel, a nephew Michael Gurda, nieces Elaine Kennedy and Marion Andrews, and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Gunther Heinzel sixteen years ago as well as her sisters, Adele Gurda, Valerie Phanoff and a brother Theodore Beahaucz.
