Charlotte Effie DeGraw, a lifetime area resident, died on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Valley View Nursing Center in Goshen. She was 78.
The daughter of the late Harry and Lena Patten Smith, she was born on April 3, 1936 in Middletown. Charlotte married Stanley DeGraw on March 1, 1959 in Middletown and they shared 55 wonderful years of marriage together.
Charlotte worked as a school bus driver for Goshen Central Schools until her retirement, June 2000. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist church in Middletown.
In addition to her beloved husband, Stanley, Charlotte is survived by her three children: Ruthie Gerrans and her husband, Gregory, Valerie Varner and her husband, John, and Peter DeGraw and his wife, Sheri; one brother, Harry Smith; and seven grandchildren: Tanya, Sheena and Benjamin, Selentine, Andrew, Issac and Bethany.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 26th at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 70 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. The Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday at the church. Following cremation, burial will take place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29th in the family plot in Wallkill Cemetery in Middletown.
