Charles “Tim” Fuqua , a longtime resident of Middletown, died on Wednesday January 5 at O.R.M.C. Horton Campus Middletown, NY. He was 56.
Born on December 12, 1954 in Washington, DC, he was the beloved son of the late Brig. Gen. Stephen O. Fuqua Jr. and Mary Ann Sherman Fuqua of Cornwall-on Hudson NY and Washington DC. He was generous of spirit, loving in nature and kind in work and deed. During his life, he
Donated his time to soup kitchens and many fellowships. He was also an ardent Jet and Mets fan.
Tim will be missed by all who knew and loved him and especially by his nieces Beth, Sarah and nephews Ben and Chuck.
'Tim' attended Annunciation Catholic School of Washington DC and Cornwall Central High School. He had a long association with the Oblates of the Immaculate, having been ordained a Brother in the 1990's. Tim was a longstanding resident and supportive community member of Middletown, and served for a short time in the US Navy.
He is survived by his siblings Gerard Fuqua of Newburgh NY, Celeste O'Neil of Milford PA, Paul Fuqua of Virginia Beach, VA and Joseph Fuqua of Ventura CA.
Visitation and Funeral Services will be from 4 to 5 pm on Monday, January 10, 2011 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. , 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. Following cremation, Tim's ashes will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.
Donations in Tim's name may be made to Fist Presbyterian Church, 25 Orchard Street, Middletown, NY 10940.
