Middletown, NY

Charles F. Fleming of Middletown, died, following a short illness at White Plains Hospital. He was 67.The son of the late Rose Holtzer Fleming Egan and William Fleming, he was born on October 4, 1945 in New York City. Charles proudly served his country in the U.S. Airforce as a Master Sargeant, E-7, from 1962-1970 and retired from the U.S. Air Force Reserves after many years of service. He married Eileen P. Flood on September 28, 1974 in New York City. They moved to the Middletown area in 1981 to raise their family together.He worked as a stationary engineer, Local 30 at Blue Hill Plaza in Pearl River and White Plains Hospital. Charlie was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Middletown.

A true family man, he was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He would do anything for his children and grandchildren. He was the best father and a huge softee, with a great sense of humor. He was a hard worker his entire life, often working two jobs, as well as serving his reservist duties.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Eileen at home; sons: Michael and his wife, Vicky of Fairfax, VA and James and his fiancee, Krista of Middletown; and daughters: Maura and her fiance, Austin of Middletown, and Catherine of Fairfax, VA; sisters: Elizabeth, Connie, Anne and her husband, Tony, Bernadette and her husband, Neal, and Rosemary; stepbrothers: Sean, Liam, Kevin, and Rory; sisters-in-law: Margaret and Johanna and brothers-in-law: John, Denis and James. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren: Tatianna, Gabriella, Madalynn, Collin and Courtney, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one brother, William.

Visitation hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, October 6th, at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 7th, at St. Joseph's Church, 149 Cottage Church, Middletown, NY 10940. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Middletown.Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.
