Charles C. Castelluccio of Middletown, NY died on May 29, 2011 at Horton Hospital. He was 80 years old. The youngest and seventh child of Carmelo and Agnes Cornacchia Castelluccio, he was born in the Bronx, NY on August 22, 1930.
He was a truck driver for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and was also a retired, decorated marine, who served in the Korean Conflict. He married his wife, Mary Monk at St. Luke’s in the Bronx, on September 18, 1955.
He was a gentle and quiet man who loved his family and took great delight in his grandchildren. A good provider, a natural cook, and a non-judgmental attitude towards others are things that we will remember him for.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Mary at home; son, Charles of Yonkers; daughter, Camille Piccolino and her husband, Ben of New Fairfield, CT; daughter, Deidre Burdi and her husband, Mark, of Goshen; sister, Gloria Bertolacci of Hartsdale, seven beloved grandchildren: Lauren, Rosa, Caitlin, Charlie, Mark, Dillon, and Ian; one great-grandchild, Johnny, and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 1 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Dennis Nikolic officiating. Interment will follow in the Orange County Veteran’s Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home Inc.
