Charles Andrew McLean, a retired Parks Supervisor for Town of Wallkill, died on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Westchester Medical center in Vallhalla. He was 76.

Charles was born on January 19, 1937 in Waltham, MA. Charles proudly served in the U.S. Navy for two tours of duty from 1955-1962 serving during the Vietnam War. He was a lifetime member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and the Middletown Elks Club # 1097. Charlie was also a very active member of Hoffman Lodge #42 order of Free Masons in Middletown; he served as Secretary for 16 years.

Charlie worked as Supervisor of the Parks Dept. and formerly served as a Councilman of the 3rd Ward in Town of Wallkill. He also worked as a volunteer for the Town of Wallkill Volunteer Ambulance Corp.

Charles is survived by his loving wife Jane Frosio McLean at home; daughter, Gail Marie Schriener of Willis, TX; brothers, John of CA, Dennis and his wife Judy and Daniel and his wife Mary of MA, and Robert McLean of PA; his sisters, Ann Keegan of West Hartford, CT, Margaret Tirone and Esther Bigalo both of MA; three grandchildren, Jesse, Samantha and Jennifer and one great-granddaughter, Alora Rose. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Thomas.

Cremation will be private.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue. Middletown, NY 10940. An Elks Service will be held at 7:15 pm on Wednesday, followed by a Masonic Service. A Funeral Service will then be conducted at the funeral home Wedesday evening. Burial of ashes with Military honors will take place at 9:30 am on Thursday, June 27 at Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY 10924.
