Catherine Oechsle of Middletown, died on Saturday, June 15, 2013 surrounded by her loving family at Orange Regional Medical Center. She was 83.

The daughter of the late William and Mary Schelberger, she was born on December 12, 1930 in New York, NY.

Catherine married Manfred Oechsle in 1950. They spent 52 years of marriage together until his death in 2002. Her life centered around her family, she lived for them. Catherine was a very funny person who really liked to laugh and loved to shop. She will be remembered as a kind hearted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Raymond and his wife Susan of Middletown and Susan Harmolin and her husband Robert also of Middletown; one sister, Audrey Bliss of New Jersey; two granddaughters, Christina and Nicole; one grandson Timothy and one great-granddaughter, Brittany.

She was predeceased by one son, Fred as well as her husband, Manfred; sisters, Ruth, Gloria, May and Mildred and brothers, Edward, William and Richard.

Visitation hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home at 11 am on Wednesday, June 19, 2013. Burial will follow in Orange County Veterans Cemetery.
