Obituary for Carter Brischler
Carter Brischler of Sparrowbush, New York passed away surrounded by friends and family on February 6 at The Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center. He was 6 years old. The son of George and Stacie Brischler, he was born a healthy baby on December 31, 2010 in Middletown, New York.

Carter was a student at Mackenzie Elementary School. In his short time on Earth, Carter developed a strong sense of what he enjoyed most in life. He loved swimming and going to the beach - he always wanted to be outside. He loved “Captain America” and was an avid collector of all things “Peppa Pig.”
While a daredevil at times, Carter always remained a sweet, loyal little boy and made friends wherever he went.

Those in Carter’s life know he marched to the beat of his own drum. His smile could light up a room. Since his diagnosis of Adrenoleukodystrophy, Carter has had an impact on the lives of countless people - some whom he never met in person. He showed tremendous courage and strength everyday through his fight with ALD. His presence taught the importance of family, friends and faith. He will forever leave an imprint in our hearts.

Carter is survived by his devoted and loving family; his mom Stacie, dad George, and brother Peyton, all of Sparrowbush, New York; maternal grandparents, Chris and Marlene Warren of Pine Bush; uncle Justin Warren of White Plains; aunt Nicole Zdatny and cousins L.J. and Zander of Carmel and many, many friends and supporters near and far.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, George and Marianna Brischler.

Visitation for Carter will be held at Holy Cross Church in Middletown, NY on Friday, February 10 from 2-5 and 7-9p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Church on Saturday, February 11 at 11a.m. with Fr. Michael Cedro officiating. Cremation will follow so that Carter can return home with his family where he belongs.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Carter’s name to: Holy Cross Church/Brischler Scholarship Fund, 626 County Route 22, Middletown, New York 10940. This fund was formerly known as “Cans for Carter” and is being transitioned to provide financial capability to attend college for Carter’s big brother, Peyton. Donations can also be made to one of the many organizations who greatly supported the Brischler family: The Ronald McDonald House, Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital and the Make a Wish Foundation.

Arrangements under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Middletown, New York.
