Carroll Jackson Obituary Information



                                                   Carroll Jackson, Jr.

 Carroll was born in Cleveland Ohio, second of five children born to Carroll and Verna Mae Jackson.

 In high school, he played the saxophone in band and orchestra.

 Upon graduation from high school,Carroll enlisted in United States Air Force and served honorably in Korean War from 1950-1953, upon discharge from military, he continued mastery of the saxophone at Julliard School of Music where he completed post graduate.

Carroll married Terri Jackson, a jazz vocalist and they moved to upstate NY where they performed together in  numerous venues, including performing concerts to raise funds for the United Negro College Fund.


Together they adopted and raised a daughter, Toni Celeste Jackson.

Carroll worked as a music teacher at Eastern New York Correctional Facility in Napanoch, NY until his retirement, then

 moved to Middletown NY where he continued to perform jazz music with his wife until her death in 1994.

 He continued to perform jazz locally until about three years ago.

 Preceded in death by his wife, Terri Jackson and brother, George Jackson, Carroll passed away at the age of 94 years on December 19, 2022.

He is survived by his daughter, Toni Delucca, granddaughters; Camille Elizabeth, Jasmine Renée, Abrianna Alexis, Desireah Rachel, sisters; Dorothy Davis, Barbara Toussant, Verna Jeanne Houston, and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews
